RARE 19C RARE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX BIG ICON RESURRECTION 12 FEASTS on gold. Russian Orthodox Icon "Resurrection with 12 feasts" Russia, icon painted in the 19th century. Wood, tempera, gesso on wood panel, hand painted on a leaf of gold, Moscow school.

The resurrection in the center panel surrounded with twelve principal feasts: The Annunciation, The Nativity of the Virgin, The Presentation of the Virgin to the Temple. The presentation of Our Lord, The Epiphany, The Transfiguration, The Entry into Jerusalem. The Resurrection (the descent into Hell), The Ascension, The Old Testament Trinity, The Dormition. Very rare and nice piece of religious art. Wood, tempera, hand painted on a leaf of gold, Moscow academic school, cypress.
