There is something very alluring about the rarest of the acteon shells, especially since the shell is found only in one spot in the world. Ah, that would entitle you to bragging rights indeed!
Anyhow, this specimen too was most likely collected dead, since it has no operculum. Yet despite that, as the photos show, it is a big specimen with vivid color, a great pattern, an unworn spire and a nice lip, making it an excellent specimen indeed---a gorgeous rare beauty that would.
