Rare 4 piece Nativity Set with Stable/Manger. Figurines in very good condition. Even finger detail is preserved. Joseph is missing staff but can be easily recrafted.
Crèche shows some paint loss and minimal chipping on top edge. The figurines are part of a group of pieces that form Salvador Furio's ensemble depicting the birth of Christ. It depicts the Virgin Mother in half kneeling position and gazing in adoration upon her Infant Son.
She appears to be kneeling before the Holy Child with her left hand extended in a gesture of blessing. Measures 7" high x 3" wide x 5 long. The underside has both the incised marks and the genuine NAO backstamp. This beautiful Nao porcelain figurine of the Christ child depicts the baby Jesus in a cradle nestled in a mound of straw. The baby Jesus measures 2.25" Height x 4" Width.
Saint Joseph is depicted standing over the Christ child with staff (missing) in hand seeming both protective and amazed by this miracle. He stands 10.75" Height x 4" Width. The crèche is a large, rustic plaster structure that measures 21" wide, 13.5" tall, and 10 in depth. Hand finished in Valencia Spain by the Lladro Group NAO artisans skilled in the fields of sculpting, casting, and finishing. The hand colored pastel shades and flawless kiln fired gloss finish are hallmarks of the piece.
