Very rare Russian Orthodox Icon "Madonna from Deesis". Russia, icon painted in 19th century. Wood, tempera, gesso, hand painted on the leaf of gold. Size 47 x 38 cm (18.5" x 15" x 1). The icon "Madonna from Deesis" depicts the Virgin in a three - quarter turn to the right, holding an open scroll in her left hand.
There are selected Saints: Nicholas and Viera at the sides of the icon. Very rare and nice piece of religious art.
