Jaw m easures 16-3/8" wide x 14-1/2" tall; principal teeth 1-1/4. The tooth serrations are like steak knives; teeth are snowy white.

Provenance of the catch is hand-written on back of jaw: Carcharodon carcharias; Collected by Alex Kerstitch, Sea of Cortez. Collected by Alexander Kerstitch, a world renowned marine biologist and research associate in ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Arizona. He died March 23, 2001 in Tucson. An avid scuba diver and researcher, Kerstitch first earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts in commercial design from the UA in 1966. He co-wrote the book "Reef Fishes of the Sea of Cortez, " for which he also produced most of the illustrations and photographs, and wrote Sea of Cortez Marine Invertebrates.
